  • communicate with warranty providers; and
  • maintain an operational history.

Warranty evidence files

Where our warranty system provides protected evidence storage, uploaded warranty evidence is intended to be stored in a protected area rather than made publicly accessible.

Access may require:

  • verification that the requester owns the warranty claim; or
  • appropriate administrator permission.

Guest warranty verification

Where warranty claims can be accessed by guests using verification links, temporary verification tokens may be stored in hashed form for security.

14. Customer Profile Information

Goodmums may provide optional profile features to help us understand customer preferences.

Our profile system may store:

  • answers you provide;
  • date the profile was updated.

This information may be connected to your WordPress/Goodmums user account.

It may be used to provide product suggestions based on configured product characteristics or WooCommerce attributes.

The Beyond Woo profile feature supplied to Goodmums is designed to store this information locally with your WordPress user account rather than send the profile information to an external service.

15. Social Login

Goodmums may allow users to register or sign in using an enabled social-login provider.

When you choose social login, information received may include:

  • email address;
  • name;
  • social-provider identifier;
  • access token;
  • profile picture where enabled; and
  • other profile fields that you authorize the provider to share.

We use this information to:

  • create or connect your Goodmums account;
  • sign you in; and
  • provide the social-login service.

The social provider controls the information it allows you to share and operates under its own privacy policy.

Our social-login system may use an access token to communicate securely with the social provider.

A temporary cookie may also be used during the authorization process to secure the login flow and return you to the correct part of Goodmums.

The Nextend Social Login system used by Goodmums states that its locally collected social-login information is removed when the related WordPress user is deleted, subject to any records that Goodmums must separately retain for legal or transactional reasons.

16. Reviews and Comments

If you leave a review or comment, we may collect:

  • name or display name;
  • email address;
  • review/comment;
  • rating;

  • other information submitted through the form.

IP and browser information may be used for:

  • abuse prevention.

Reviews or approved comments may be visible publicly.

Do not include private information in a public review that you do not want other people to see.

Gravatar

Where comments and Gravatar are enabled, an anonymized value created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine whether your email is connected to a Gravatar profile.

If the comment is approved, your Gravatar profile image may appear publicly with the comment.

17. Images, Videos and Uploaded Files

Goodmums may allow you to upload images or videos for purposes such as:

  • warranty claims;
  • return claims;
  • reviews;
  • product-safety reports; or
  • support.

Images may contain hidden information such as EXIF metadata, including location data.

You should remove location information from an image before uploading it if you do not want that information included.

Warranty and private claim evidence should not be treated the same way as a public review image.

Goodmums aims to restrict access to private claim evidence where the system supports protected storage.

18. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit goodmums.com, our website and supporting services may automatically receive technical information.

This may include:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;

  • referring page;
  • pages viewed;
  • products viewed;
  • login activity;
  • date and time;
  • cart activity;
  • session information;
  • technical errors; and
  • website/server logs.

We may use this information to:

  • operate the website;
  • keep the site secure;
  • maintain sessions;
  • troubleshoot problems;
  • improve performance;
  • understand use of the store;
  • prevent abuse; and
  • support analytics where enabled.

19. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored through your browser or device.

Goodmums may use cookies for purposes such as:

  • operating the website;
  • keeping products in your cart;
  • keeping you signed in;
  • remembering preferences;
  • social login;
  • comments;
  • security;
  • analytics;
  • measuring website performance; and
  • advertising where such technologies are enabled.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly.

Other cookies or tracking technologies may be optional and may require consent depending on their purpose and applicable law.

You can also control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the store from working correctly.

20. Shopping Cart and Essential Store Cookies

WooCommerce uses cookies and similar session technologies to provide important shopping functions.

These can be used to:

  • keep track of cart contents;
  • maintain checkout sessions;
  • recognize changes to your cart;
  • support account/session functionality; and
  • help the store operate correctly.

Essential shopping cookies may be necessary to provide the service you request.

21. Account and Login Cookies

WordPress may set cookies when you:

  • visit a login page;
  • sign into an account;
  • select Remember Me; or
  • use account-related features.

A temporary cookie may be used to determine whether your browser accepts cookies.

WordPress login cookies normally maintain your authenticated session.

Where WordPress default durations apply:

  • ordinary login cookies may last approximately 2 days;
  • selecting Remember Me may keep the login active for approximately 2 weeks;
  • logging out removes the active login cookies.

WordPress may also use preference cookies for administrative or display settings.

Where comment convenience cookies are enabled and you choose to use them, they may remember your name, email address, and website for up to approximately one year.

22. Analytics and Advertising Technologies

Goodmums may use analytics, measurement, search-performance, and advertising technologies to understand how the website is used and how customers discover Goodmums.

Depending on the technology enabled, these services may process information such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser or device information;
  • pages viewed;
  • products viewed;
  • referring website;
  • approximate location;
  • interactions;
  • campaign information;
  • conversions; and
  • cookie or advertising identifiers.

These tools may help us:

  • understand website traffic;
  • identify technical problems;
  • understand which pages are useful;
  • measure advertising performance;
  • improve campaigns;
  • understand how customers find Goodmums; and
  • improve the store.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential analytics or advertising tracking, Goodmums should obtain that consent through the website before activating those technologies for the user.

You may also be able to control some advertising or analytics technologies through browser settings, cookie controls, or the settings offered by the relevant provider.

23. Embedded Content and External Services

Goodmums pages may contain content or services provided by another website.

Examples can include:

  • video;
  • images;
  • maps;
  • social-media content;
  • external documents;
  • payment interfaces; or
  • other embedded features.

Embedded content may behave as though you visited the external website directly.

The external provider may:

  • collect information about you;
  • use cookies;
  • use tracking technologies;
  • record your interaction;
  • connect your activity to an account you hold with that provider.

Goodmums does not control the privacy practices of an independent external service.

  • improve our products and store;
  • understand website performance;

  • establish or defend legal rights; and
  • communicate with you about services you request.

We aim not to use personal information for an unrelated purpose without an appropriate legal basis or additional consent where required.

25. Our Basis for Processing Information

Depending on the purpose, Goodmums may process personal information because:

  • you have given consent;
  • processing is necessary to take steps requested by you;
  • processing is necessary to perform an order or agreement with you;
  • processing is necessary to comply with an applicable legal obligation;
  • processing is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights;
  • processing is necessary for fraud, safety, or security purposes where allowed by law; or
  • another lawful basis recognized under applicable Bangladesh law applies.

Where we rely on your consent, the request should be clear and connected to a specific purpose.

Where applicable, you may withdraw consent.

Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing invalid and may not stop processing that is required for another lawful reason.

26. Marketing Communications

Where Goodmums provides newsletters, promotions, product updates, or other marketing, we may use contact information where you have subscribed, consented, or where another lawful basis applies.

Marketing may be sent through channels such as:

  • email;
  • SMS;
  • social-media advertising; or
  • another permitted communication method.

Goodmums may use an email service provider such as Brevo for subscription or email-delivery functions where enabled.

You can unsubscribe from optional email marketing using the unsubscribe option provided in the message where available or by contacting Goodmums.

Withdrawing from marketing does not stop necessary order, account, payment, warranty, refund, or security messages.

27. Transactional Communications

When you place an order or use a Goodmums service, we may send necessary communications such as:

  • order confirmation;
  • payment status;
  • delivery information;
  • Pre-Order updates;
  • refund information;
  • account verification;
  • password reset;
  • account-security notice;
  • return information;
  • warranty updates; and
  • support responses.

These communications are operational and are different from optional marketing.

You may not be able to opt out of a necessary transactional message while the related account, order, payment, claim, or service remains active.

28. Who Within Goodmums Can Access Information

Authorized Goodmums administrators, shop managers, support staff, or other team members may access personal information where needed for their work.

For example, authorized staff may need access to:

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

30. Payment Providers

This may include:

  • amount;

  • investigate fraud;
  • protect customers;
  • investigate a serious safety issue; or
  • protect the security of Goodmums systems.

We do not intend to disclose more personal information than reasonably necessary for the lawful purpose.

35. International Processing and Transfers

Some technology, social-login, email, analytics, advertising, hosting, or other service providers may operate outside Bangladesh or use systems located in other countries.

This means personal information may in some situations be processed or transferred outside Bangladesh.

Where such processing or transfer occurs, Goodmums will take reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements consistent with applicable Bangladesh data-protection requirements, including any restrictions or safeguards required for international transfers.

36. How Long We Keep Information

Goodmums does not intend to keep every type of personal information forever.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any additional period required or permitted by law.

Order and transaction records

Order and business transaction information may be retained for at least the period required by applicable digital-commerce, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection, and legal-record requirements.

Goodmums may generally retain important ecommerce transaction records for at least 6 years where such retention is required for digital-commerce or related legal purposes.

Account information

Account information may be retained while your account remains active.

If your account is deleted, some information may still need to be retained separately where connected to:

  • refunds;
  • warranties;
  • fraud prevention;
  • legal obligations;
  • disputes; or
  • security.

Return and refund records

Return and refund information may be retained with the related transaction for the period reasonably required for:

  • accounting;
  • dispute resolution;
  • fraud prevention;
  • customer support; and
  • legal compliance.

Warranty information

Warranty claims and evidence may be retained for the duration of the claim and afterward where reasonably needed for:

  • warranty history;
  • duplicate-claim prevention;
  • disputes;
  • audit records;
  • product-safety investigation; and
  • legal obligations.

Reviews and comments

Public reviews or comments may remain available until they are removed, deleted, or no longer needed.

Comment metadata may be retained to manage moderation, spam, and follow-up comments.

Marketing information

Marketing contact information may be retained while you remain subscribed.

If you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information necessary to record and respect your opt-out.

Security records

Security and technical logs may be retained for a reasonable period needed to investigate incidents, prevent abuse, maintain systems, and comply with applicable requirements.

When information is no longer reasonably required and there is no legal reason to keep it, Goodmums should delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it where appropriate.

37. How We Protect Information

Goodmums takes reasonable technical and organizational steps intended to protect personal information.

Depending on the system, these measures may include:

  • account authentication;
  • access controls;
  • protected administrative access;
  • software updates;
  • security monitoring;
  • protected evidence storage;
  • hashed verification tokens;
  • backups;
  • fraud controls; and
  • limiting staff access.

No website, server, database, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Customers should also protect their account passwords and devices.

38. Data Incidents

If Goodmums becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we may take steps such as:

  • investigating the incident;
  • limiting further access;
  • securing affected systems;
  • restoring data where possible;
  • reviewing what information was affected;
  • contacting relevant service providers;
  • notifying affected people where required; and
  • notifying an appropriate authority where required by applicable law.

39. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable Bangladesh law and the circumstances, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

These may include the right to:

  • know how your information is being used;
  • request access;
  • request a copy;
  • request correction;
  • request deletion in appropriate circumstances;
  • request transfer or portability where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
  • opt out of optional marketing;
  • object or complain about certain processing where applicable; and
  • seek another remedy provided by law.

Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.

For example, we may need to keep some transaction information even after an account-deletion request because of legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, warranty, or dispute requirements.

40. Accessing Your Information

You may contact Goodmums to ask what personal information we hold about you or request access where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before providing personal information.

This helps prevent information from being disclosed to the wrong person.

41. Correcting Your Information

If your personal information is incorrect, incomplete, or outdated, you can:

  • update information through your account where available; or
  • contact Goodmums Support.

We may ask for reasonable evidence if a requested correction affects an order, payment, ownership record, warranty, or other important transaction.

42. Deleting Your Information

You may ask Goodmums to delete personal information where applicable.

Deletion may not be possible for information that Goodmums must keep for reasons such as:

  • legal compliance;
  • transaction records;
  • accounting;
  • tax;
  • fraud prevention;
  • warranty;
  • dispute resolution;
  • security; or
  • establishing or defending legal rights.

Where complete deletion is not possible, we may explain why relevant information must continue to be retained.

43. Data Export and Portability

Where available and applicable, you may request a copy or export of personal information associated with your account.

WordPress provides tools that may assist with personal-data export requests.

Where a portability right applies under law, Goodmums will handle the request according to the applicable requirements and technical capability.

44. Withdrawing Consent and Opting Out

Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it.

For example, you can unsubscribe from optional marketing.

Withdrawing consent does not:

  • make earlier lawful processing invalid;
  • automatically delete transaction records; or
  • stop processing that Goodmums must continue for another lawful reason.

If withdrawing consent makes it impossible to provide an optional service, that service may stop.

45. Account Deletion

Where Goodmums provides an account-deletion feature, you may request deletion of your account.

Deleting the account does not necessarily delete every record associated with previous purchases.

Goodmums may still retain information needed for:

  • orders;

46. Children and Minors

Goodmums sells products for mothers, babies, children, and families.

However, the Goodmums purchasing and account relationship is intended to be managed by an adult.

A person should normally be at least 18 years old to independently place an order.

A person under 18 should use Goodmums under the involvement, supervision, or authorization of a parent or legal guardian.

An adult customer may sometimes provide information relating to a child when reasonably relevant to:

  • product selection;
  • customer profile;
  • support;
  • safety;
  • warranty; or
  • another requested service.

Please do not provide unnecessary sensitive information about a child.

Where applicable law requires parental/guardian consent or additional protection for children’s personal information, Goodmums will apply those requirements.

47. Automated Suggestions and Profile Scores

Goodmums may use information you voluntarily provide in your profile to calculate a profile-completion score or suggest products.

For example, profile answers may be compared with WooCommerce product attributes configured by Goodmums.

These suggestions are intended to help you discover products.

They should not be treated as:

  • medical advice;
  • diagnosis;
  • professional health advice;
  • safety certification; or
  • a guarantee that a product is suitable for every person.

You should review the actual product information before purchasing.

48. Third-Party Websites

Goodmums may link to:

  • manufacturers;
  • social networks;
  • payment providers;
  • external reports;
  • certificate sources;
  • videos;
  • articles; or
  • other websites.

If you leave Goodmums and visit another website, the external site’s privacy policy applies to its processing.

Goodmums does not control the independent privacy practices of websites that we do not operate.

49. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Goodmums may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we update it, we may change the:

  • Effective Date;
  • Last Updated date; or
  • both.

Where appropriate, material privacy changes may also be communicated through:

  • goodmums.com;
  • email;
  • account notice; or
  • another appropriate communication method.

Where a new use of personal information requires additional consent under applicable law, simply changing this Privacy Policy does not replace the need to obtain that consent.

We encourage you to review this Policy from time to time.
